Homage to Rob Thurman

Nightlife (Cal Leandros, Book 1)Moonshine (Cal Leandros, Book 2)Madhouse (Cal Leandros, Book 3)DeathwishRoadkill (Cal Leandros, Book 5)Trick of the Light (Trickster, Book 1)The Grimrose Path (Trickster, Book 2)ChimeraOh Lu, can I ever thank you enough for buying me Nightlife? It changed my life forever and gave me a new favourite author. So basically I went out and bought the rest of the novels that she's written, read every one, and am holding out until March 1, 2011 when the next Cal Leandros novel, called Blackout, comes out. I recommend these novels to anyone who enjoys the supernatural, Greek mythology, Roman mythology, mythology in general, weapons (she sources all her weapons references from an FBI agent so you know it's legit), and an affordable read that will keep you glued to it's pages.

So here's a summary of the Cal Leandros series:
Cal lives with his older half-brother Niko whose essentially a kick ass ninja who is extremely intelligent and well versed in mythology and history. They currently reside in NYC where more things go bump in the night than you can imagine. Along with your common vampire and werewolf there are also undead mummies, boggles, trolls, gypsies (heehee), and various other evil critters. For a guy who has as many knifes as he does angst action is never hard to find. This includes the discovery of his paternal lineage, that of the Auphe who are essentially the evil that the evil critters fear, ah good times. Throw in a sex crazed puck and we've got a butt kicking trio that is loads of fun.

A bit about the Trickster Novels:
If you, like me, enjoy reading about a woman who can kick some ass than look no further than this series. Trixa has no qualms about blasting the head off the nearest demon, except when she has to clean it up, seriously they leave a nasty pile of goo. Both of the books in the series so far have had surprise twists that I never saw coming and I think that is what makes me love them so much, they are familiar yet not as predictable as most fantasy novels. Including a similar cast of baddies from the Cal Leandros novels with angels and demons thrown in as well as a cameo from everyone's favourite Puck my hopes is that there will be an overlap novel between the two series :) Set in Las Vegas, the city that never sleeps, kicking demon butt never seems to sleep either.

Chimera: Russian mafia, need I say more? Okay okay I'll give you more than that, how about new breed of humans, does that have you intrigued? What if I said they were genetically engineered weapons by a government sponsored biotech company? Yeah I've definitely got you hooked add in an older brother searching for his younger brother who was kidnapped a decade ago and there is a recipe for a great book.
